Huntingtower Castle is the surviving two towers from a courtyard castle of the Ruthven family dating from the 15th to 17th century and now managed by Historic Environment Scotland. The two towers were originally separate residential buildings that were later joined together, and both retain their roofs. The ancillary buildings and courtyard have disappeared.

The Ruthvens were sheriffs of Perth from the reign of Robert III, and soon after this they built a stone castle here, including a gate tower. In about 1480 the gate tower was converted to become a tower house, and perhaps by 1513 the second tower had been built. Following their involvement in a conspiracy against James VI, the Ruthven estate was attainted. The buildings remained occupied into the 20th century until it passed into state ownership.
